In the Instagram snap, Ryan totes their daughter James in a carrier, as he stands in front of a lake with a big smile on his face. "Happy Fathers Day!!! ... @vancityreynolds Since the day our baby was born, I've felt so strongly in my heart that you were most likely the father. #ILoveYouSoMuchItsSilly," the Age of Adaline star captioned the shot.
When we saw the snap, we thought 'this is totally swoon-worthy but, please, at some point can we see the baby.' Others, meanwhile, looked straight past Ryan's hotness and zeroed in on something else completely different.
"If [you're] going to post a photo of you #babywearing at least do it right. All I'm imagining is the baby falling straight to the ground. This is scary!," one commenter wrote. "Dude the baby is suffocating in there," someone else said. Apparently, Ryan was wearing the carrier wrong and those two weren't the only ones who were up in arms about it.
Many more social media users freaked out about the new dad's mistake, and soon, articles started popping up around the web blasting him too (Can he live though?).
As for why everyone was freaking out about the pic, The Stir pointed out that the baby girl's feet are dangling from the bottom of the carrier and they're together, which isn't a good thing. "When baby's feet are pushed together in a carrier, it increases the risk of hip dysplasia, as their little hips are basically pushed out of their sockets. Instead, doctors recommend that baby carriers 'support the thigh and allow the legs to spread to keep the hip in a stable position.'" Also, the site said Ryan should've been able to see James' face to make sure she didn't suffocate.
With all of that said though, we're sure the couple wouldn't put their daughter at risk on purpose (and we can't blame them if they hold back on posting more pics with baby James in the future). Sigh.
