Lady Gaga knows what it means to love your body - in fact, she's shut down the body-shamers more times than we can count. And when Lady Gaga continues to win with the body positive movement, we all win.
The pop star shared this Instagram photo and it looked like she was doing another one of her yoga or Pilates workouts, but she was actually just gettin' her physical therapy on.
"Up early for hip exercise!" she captioned the photo. "I have to do these everyday to keep my hip strong, otherwise I have pain." Ok, so now that everyone isn't focusing on the workout part of it, Gaga knew that people would immediately look at her body and notice that she looked very thin.
"Fyi I'm not really that thin it's just the stretch! Trust me! Haha," she concluded. Yasssss, girl! We see too much out there telling us to look thin and you just shut. it. down.
As for the reason behind the exercises, Gaga was forced to cancel part of her Born This Way Ball tour in 2013 after injuring her hip, which she later revealed was a lot more intense than just a simple injury.
"My injury was actually a lot worse than just a labral tear," she told Women's Wear Daily. "I had broken my hip. Nobody knew, and I haven't even told the fans yet. But when we got all the MRSs finished before I went to surgery, there were giant craters, a hole in my hip the size of a quarter and the cartilage was just hanging out the other side of my hip."
She also said that her surgeon informed her that if she'd one another show, she might have needed another hip replacement - it was that close. We're glad to see that she's doing so well and keeping up with her PT! Go Gaga!
