It looks like the rumors were true. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are divorcing after ten years of marriage (it's way too early in the week for this kind of chaos).
After months of speculation, the couple confirmed they are calling it quits for good, saying in a joint statement to People, "After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."
Just last week, split rumors for these two reached an all-time high when moving trucks were spotted outside of their Pacific Palisades, Calif. home, but, it was quickly reported they were renovating and not moving one of them out. If that was a hard case of denial, we were right there with those "sources." Who would ever think these two would really break up?
According to E! Online though, the couple has been "living separate lives and preparing for [the divorce] for a long time," adding that until today they were together "because of the kids." The site also reported that Jen and Ben had been in therapy for two years, and also had been in a trial separation for 10 months, with Ben staying at hotels at the time.
The A-list duo met on the set of their 2003 flick Daredevil and started dating following his 2004 split from then-fiance Jennifer Lopez. They went on to tie the knot in 2005 and had three beautiful children together, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
News of their split comes one day after their tenth (!) wedding anniversary. Keeping our fingers crossed these two have an amicable split. We're so going to miss their awards show PDA.
