At the beginning, Cait and her friends make a toast, to Caitlyn :::Cheers to you, Cait!::: Then, her mom opens up about how she first felt when she heard the news that Caitlyn was going to be transitioning. "My first feeling was, 'I lost my son,'" she confesses. "Then I thought, 'You know what? I'm gaining.'"
In another part of the clip, Cait meets with transgender youth and encourages them to surround themselves with a good support system. "Hang out with the people that love you and respect you," which is exactly what she's done.
It's truly touching to see Caitlyn finally comfortable in her own skin and to see that not only is she getting support from those around her, she's able to support others who are going through a similar journey.
In an essay published this morning on WhoSay, the former Olympian admitted that until recently, she had "totally isolated myself from the transgender community, so I have a lot of catching up to do!"
It looks like she's already making up for lost time, and hopefully forming some strong friendships in the process. During a recent trip to New York, she shared the photo below, along with the caption, "
