If you haven't noticed, we're totally girl crushing on Misty Copeland.

The ballet phenom is having one amazing year, and just days after making history by becoming the first black principal ballerina for the American Ballet Theater, another incredible opportunity just came her way.

Misty will make her Broadway debut in On the Town in a special two-week run from August 25 to September 6, according to Time. She'll be taking over for New York City Ballet principal Megan Fairchild as Ivy Smith, the female lead who falls in love with one of the sailors (excuse us while we book a flight to the Big Apple).

"I was contacted by them and they actually wanted me to go in pretty quickly, and it was all just 'Oh my gosh, this is not something I ever thought I would do,'" she told the site. "If I'm going to be part of a Broadway show, I think this is the one."

"It's so strong and rich with the dancing, and it's such an incredible role," Misty added. While discussing her Broadway role, the dance prodigy also opened up about the reaction to her ABT promotion. "No matter what color these people are that come up to me, I think they really understand what an important direction this is taking dance in, period," she said. "I think people are recognizing that it's not about me as an individual but about what I stand for."

Misty is continuing to break down barriers and soar to the top on her own terms, inspiring not only aspiring ballerinas, but, girls everywhere. This girl is extraordinary.
