Man Flies Over Calgary in Lawn Chair Tied to Balloons

This man was trying to attract some attention to his company, but he ended up attracting all the wrong kind of attention when he pulled this stunt.

With a banner displaying his company name attached to a lawn chair he purchased for $10 from a local Walmart tied to 110 helium-filled balloons, the makeshift pilot took to the skies with the hopes of landing at the Calgary Stampede, an annual rodeo event. Kind of like the movie Up, except IRL.

How he planned on controlling his homemade aircraft, we have no idea and as you might have guessed, the whole thing didn't go according to plan.

While a lot of people did take notice, so did the police, who were waiting for him when he landed in an industrial field about a mile away from his target, according to ABC 7.

But wait, there's more! Somehow, he managed to land (uninjured) without the lawn chair or balloons. "We're in the midst of tracking that down," his friend told the news outlet.

He's reportedly been charged with one count of mischief causing danger to life and one count for mischief to property under $5,000.
