5-Year-Old Discovers Hidden Camera in Starbucks Bathroom

This is absolutely awful.

A mom's trip to Starbucks in Lancaster, CA took a scary turn when her 5-year-old son discovered a hidden camera in the bathroom. "My son used the restroom first and I used the restroom after him," she told KTLA. "I noticed he was staring at the sink a little bit perplexed. I asked him what was wrong and he said, 'Mommy, why is there a phone under there?' And my skin kind of began to crawl."

In the single-person restroom, under the sink, someone had propped a phone up on a stack of paper towels. It was facing the toilet and recording. It is not yet known how long the device was there before it was discovered.

"I wouldn't have seen it if it was not at my son's eye level," she explained. The thought of how many people were in there before me...myself, my son...it's just an extreme violation and it makes me feel like we're not really safe anywhere," she revealed.

The woman notified the staff who immediately called the police. "We are disturbed by this incident and take our obligation to provide a safe environment for our customers and partners (employees) very seriously," Starbucks spokesperson Jaime Riley told KTLA. "Our store partners took swift action as soon as they became aware of the incident by immediately alerting the Sheriff's Department of the situation."

It is unclear where the video was being sent, but law enforcement did get some surveillance footage from the location and they are investigating.
