New York City Uber driver Khalil Calixte got the surprise of a lifetime from passengers on their way to the T-Swift show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The three girls obviously needed a lift to the show, so that's when they hit up Uber. Little did the driver know he'd be gifted the ride's fare AND a $200 VIP T-Swizzle ticket.
Business Insider reports that Jenna McNicholas, Maggie Fair and Jamie Tanzer were on their way to the singer's "1989 World Tour" concert when they decided to take an Uber from Grand Central Terminal to Penn Station in Manhattan. One of their friends was originally supposed to go with the teenagers but had to drop out at the last minute, leaving them with one extra ticket just hours before the show. That's where Khalil's sweet gift came into play.
The Swifties could have sold the ticket online for much more than what was paid for it or they could have forgotten about it and let it go to waste. But as they made their way to the event it soon became evident that there was at least one more option. Hook that driver up, yo!
Like an awesome dude should do, the driver offered the girls an auxiliary cord to play music on the vehicle's stereo and, as you might have expected, they started singing along to some Tay tunes. He later joined in on the fun, sparking an idea among the group.
"We were all looking at each other, we were like, wait, he needs to come to the concert with us," Jenna said. He so thought they were joking when they offered him the ticket at first but eventually realized they were serious and graciously accepted. Who wouldn't?!
The unlikely group of friends had a friggin' blast. Because they were VIP status, the driver didn't even have to pay for parking, got enough Uber fare off them to take the night off, AND scored a T-Swift ticket. Luckiest guy, ever?
"I felt like I knew them for a long time and we created a bond, and it was really fun," Khalil told the site.
You know how Tay is. We bet she'd be so proud of her fans for doing such a sweet thing. Very cool, girls...very cool!
