Pro Surfer Mick Fanning Attacked by Two Sharks on Live TV

Imagine being attacked by not one, by two, great white sharks on live TV. That's exactly what happened to pro surfer Mick Fanning while he was competing in the J-Bay Open. While waiting for his wave, the Aussie surfer was suddenly attacked by a pair of sharks, leaving even the announcer shocked.

"Holy s**t!" he exclaims, before adding: "Excuse me." You can see fins appear as Mick thrashes around on his board before he's covered by a wave. "I just saw fins," he explained of the terrifying incident. "I didn't see the teeth. I punched it in the back." Luckily and amazingly, he survived with nothing more than his board leash being severed by the shark and got picked up by a jet ski. The World Surf League called the event off due to the shark attacks and plan to reschedule for another time when the water is safe.

We're so glad Mick wasn't hurt, and we'll probably think twice before signing up for surf lessons!
