Imagine walking into a party and hearing the song that you and your ex used to listen to all the time. Now imagine a scenario where your ex is pop star Taylor Swift and walking into a room where they are playing one of her biggest hits. A touch awkward, no? Well, that's exactly what happened when Jake Gyllenhaal went on Good Morning America on Monday, and if it was awkward for the Southpaw actor, he didn't seem to notice - but fans sure did.
So what was this awk situation? Well, as Robin Roberts introduced Jake on Good Morning America, a certain song by his ex began playing - specifically, Taylor's angry ex-BFF tune "Bad Blood." As Swifties know, Jake and Taylor had a short but seemingly intense romance in the fall of 2010, before breaking up early in 2011. Naturally, Taylor channeled her emotions about the romance and subsequent breakup through song, allegedly penning the tracks "All Too Well," "Red," and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" about her ex. It would be a huge slap in the face for Good Morning America to play any of those tracks, but in this case it seems that the show just didn't realize what they were doing.
Jake may have been a good sport about the song choice, but I can only imagine the "yikes" moment he probably felt when one of Taylor's most bitter tunes was played to introduce him. I don't think Good Morning America will be doing that again any time soon - even if there isn't any real "bad blood" between these exes.
