Now, before you get all excited about Sel being in one of the turn-around chairs, you should probably know that she's actually just going to be a mentor. That doesn't mean we don't think she'd be an awesome fit for the actual judging panel! Hint, hint, NBC.
Sel will make her debut during the Battle Rounds. She will work with returning coach and fellow pop queen Gwen Stefani.
Selena isn't the only big star to be tapped for mentoring. According to Us Weekly, country singer Brad Paisley will naturally assist fellow country cutie Blake Shelton. John Fogerty will help out classic rock superfan Adam Levine, and Missy Elliott will help out Team Pharrell.
People suck, though. Haters have already gone on Twitter to complain about Selena getting the show gig. They apparently think she's not a good enough singer to be a mentor. Psh, what do they know?!
But according to Us Weekly's source, Sel "was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she's so young" during the recent Battle Rounds tapings and "exceeded everyone's expectations." Ha, take that haters!
The Voice returns to NBC on Sept. 21.
