Rihanna will be on the show as a "key advisor to all the coaches," NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt announced Thursday, according to E! Online. He added, "this is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers." We cannot wait.
So far, Rihanna is the latest music star to take on the role, in which she'll mentor the contestants from all four teams. Taylor Swift and Coldplay singer Chris Martin, among others have also served as key advisors for the show in the past.
This announcement comes just months after it was revealed that Gwen Stefani will return as a coach in season nine. Pharrell, who started on the show with her in season seven, will also be back, as will Voice vets Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
The Voice's season nine is scheduled to premiere September 21 on NBC. We're already getting our viewing party together.
