From Disney princess to style queen, Zendaya is a multi-talented, on-the-go woman after our own hearts. Whether she's killing it in front of the cameras or keeping things hush-hush while designing her Daya footwear collection (slated for Spring 2016!), we can't help but wonder what it'd be like to be by her side through it all.

While we aren't walking red carpets anytime soon, we did get a glimpse of Zendaya's design process from Titan's Vice President of Design Nicolas Huneault. (Titan Industries is the company partnering with Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach to create her full line of heels, flats and sneakers!) Apparently, designing with the "Bad Blood" guest star is every bit the dream you'd imagine.

When brainstorming the footwear collection, Nicolas said the most important thing was to design shoes Zendaya would actually step out in herself. He explained, "We went to her house, went to her closet, talked about the shoes she actually owns - why she owns them, what she likes about them."

The result? Funky fringe stilettos and slides, mesh paneled cage heels and seriously cool sneaks doused in plenty of patterns and colorful hues.

Street style in Europe, Los Angeles and New York played a huge part in influencing the line, too. "Right now she's in London, so she's sending us pictures of things she likes," Nicolas said, elaborating on how in touch Zendaya is with all aspects of the line, from initial ideation to final touches.

Oh and I'm a shoe designer😏😂 @luxurylaw #Daya @soleofdaya

Zendaya was so committed to creating footwear she'd want herself that Nicolas said the design team actually had to advise her to lower the heel heights! "Zendaya loves everything really high - 120 millimeters. She's very amazing in the way she understands what we're saying. We're saying, 'Your fans can't necessarily walk in those heels.' The collection is more sensible."

And even when the K.C. Undercover star couldn't meet to discuss shoes in person, she was just a webcam away. "As far as somebody who's not technically a designer, she's extremely involved," Nicolas said. "We have Skype meetings, 'Do you like this; do you not?' She has been involved from concept to finishing touch, so it is a 50/50 partnership."
2015 MET Museum Costume Institute Benefit GalaWhat sets Zendaya's namesake collection apart from other celebrity lines? Nicolas says her commitment to the collection's authenticity and ability to adjust to market trends makes this collaboration a great one. Her heart and soul are in this collection, and Nicolas said the incredible team surrounding her played a big part, too.

"It's amazing in the sense that it allows us to dig in a little bit more into the DNA of the brand - for how the celeb wants to be," he said.

In the nine months it takes to bring a shoe from concept to in-the-flesh stiletto, that connection makes a big difference. We can't wait until we get to slip on a few pairs, ourselves!
