We Day is quickly approaching! This important annual global event features speakers and performers (including Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez Nick Jonas, Jennifer Hudson and more) and brings together young people who really want to change the world.
One of them is Kid President, an inspiring young man who, with creator (and his brother) Brad Montague, helps spread the message of We Day, which Brad explained to Cambio as "a room full of hope and possibility" that "brings together young people and people who care about young people to celebrate the good we can all do together."
Brad further noted that We Day is an inspiring and encouraging gathering, explaining: "It can be easy to get down about the future, especially after watching the news - but there is hope. There is an entire generation of young people who care about living with compassion and creativity and courage. They're going to make the world a better place. I believe it."
Brad calls this year's We Day "bigger and bolder than ever" and he and Kid President filmed some special segments, including a little phone fun with pal Demi Lovato.
Check out Kid President and Demi having a go at a smiling contest (above) – we're not sure who's going to win this one, since both are determined to go the distance.
We love Kid President's advice to the current Presidential candidates – basically, "go back and remember what it was like to be a kid."
Brad told us: "It's important to not get wrapped up in unnecessary fighting and trying to look like the best person for the job. What really matters is focusing on what really matters. There are things we learn as children that we sometimes forget as we grow up: 'Be nice,' 'Share,' 'Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.' If we could all take some time to pause and listen to a young person then I truly think the world would be a better place."
You can watch We Day on August 21st on ABC at 8/7C. Check out we.org for more info.
