Unfortunately, Will Smith won't be involved in the upcoming Independence Day sequel, but the latest rumor might make up for his absence.

Reportedly, the actor/rapper is working on a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot, which he intends to executive produce through his production company Overbrook Entertainment, along with his partners James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. According to TV Line, the revamped version of the beloved '90s series is in the early developmental stages and will put "a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of the original series."

Gah! This news is almost too exciting to handle. Honestly, we couldn't think of better person to help revive the series than the original Fresh Prince himself, which brings us to this question: Who will take the leading role as the goofball kid from Philly sent to live with his rich uncle in Beverly Hills?

It seems like the obvious choice would be Will's son Jaden, but whoever decides to fill the Fresh Prince's basketball shoes has an awful lot to live up to. The only thing we're a wee bit concerned about is the classic Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. Seriously, Will and company
please do right by the new theme song or our lives will totally be flip-turned upside down. No pressure, right?

In the meantime, there's only one way to celebrate the possibility of a Fresh Prince reboot.
