Confused? Don't worry, we were too.
It all started when Avril posted a message on Twitter that was kind of a shut-your-mouth comment to Swifties after seeing a Twitter post that said Taylor "liked" a meme on Tumblr comparing Avril's meet and greets with fans to Taylor's.
"Comparison is judging and judging a person does not define who they are...It defines who you are. We all love our fans," Avril posted in response.
Taylor never said anything back, but that didn't stop fans from seeing the shade in Avril's message. Of course, the story was picked up by several sites and then fans went into a frenzy when they saw a tweet from Calvin to Avril in total Taylor defense.
"[Taylor] didn't judge you. She doesn't judge anyone," Tay's boo reportedly wrote on Twitter. "She was only having fun with her fans, not trying to compare herself to you."
Cray, right? Too bad he never DID write that. Shortly after people started talking about him sticking up for his lady, he shot back on Twitter and revealed that he SO didn't write that to Avril at all.
Well, that's that. Don't believe everything you see online, folks.
I'm not in favour of photoshopping fake tweets and then running them on your news outlet daily mail etc that's really fucked up— Calvin Harris (@CalvinHarris) August 25, 2015
This isn't the only thing Calvin's come to Tay's defense for. Ex-One Direction member Zayn Malik dissed her on Twitter a few days ago and Calvin ripped him a new one. You can read about all that, here.
Meanwhile, Taylor must be into her man sticking up for her these days. She was totally caught telling him "I love you" at her show in Los Angeles on August 24, 2015. #CutestThingEver
