Have you ever asked Siri to take you to the nearest gas station or Target, and you end up stranded in an abandoned parking lot where the sky is seemingly grayer just directly above your head? "MAKE A U-TURN!" she will yell as we throw our iPhone against the car door. "But you just told me to turn left!"
Siri redeemed herself with a Tennessee teen, Sam Ray, who was making repairs to his truck when a jack collapsed, dropping the 5,000 pound vehicle on top of him. "I could feel myself slipping," Sam said. "I was starting to accept that I wouldn't get out." The weight of the vehicle caused Siri to activate in his back pocket, and when 18-year-old Sam told her to "Dial 911!" she did!
The Rutherford Country dispatcher, Christina Lee, thought she had received a "butt-dial" until she heard him screaming for help and sent crews to the scene where they saved his life. Sam had three broken ribs and a crushed kidney, according to Seventeen. The crew arrived just in time to rush him to the hospital for adequate treatment.
Sam told the Tennessean, "I guess I'm stuck with an iPhone for the rest of my life. I owe them that." Apple should definitely feature Sam in their response commercial to Microsoft's Cortana, just saying.
