T-Pain Sings the National Anthem Without Auto Tune, Kills It

T-Pain just blew our minds.

The Grammy-winning rapper is known for his auto-tune tracks (in fact, he put auto tune on the map), but when he sang the national anthem at a Dodgers Game in Los Angeles Monday, he ditched the auto tune and shocked just about everyone.

As it turns out, T-Pain sings really well without it, so well, that after his performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" was over it started trending because it was just that good. He went on to tell Global Grind that he didn't want to do a pre-recorded version of the National Anthem like other stars sometimes do.

"That would've been more hard trying to keep up with my recorded self," he told the site. "Take a pause every now and then and after that echo goes away, do your thing."

T-Pain's fifth studio album, Stoicville: The Phoenix, drops in November. Hopefully, we'll get to hear more of his voice – without auto-tune – on it.
