People Are Pretending to Faint in Front of Their Dogs to See What They Do

We have no idea why, but for some reason someone in Japan decided to faint in front of their dog to see what he would do and the idea spread like wildfire. Soon, Twitter was filled with videos of people" fainting" in front of their dogs to try to get a reaction out of them.
In all honesty, the dogs probably have no idea why they are being forced to endure this exercise of futility and while dogs often sense when something is wrong, that alarm doesn't seem to go off in their heads when you're PRETENDING something is wrong when it really isn't. So, can we conclusively say that this is how the dog would have reacted if their owner had ACTUALLY fainted? Nope. But from a less scientific standpoint, the videos are still pretty entertaining.

Some dogs used it as an opportunity to chart their own course. No longer bound by the leash or their owner's 'lame' rule that you have to stay on the path, this one immediately set out on a mission to see the world on his terms: This one was cautiously optimistic about what a leash-free life had to offer. First, she marked her territory, then she started having second thoughts and suddenly, a second wind of courage set her free: This one did not give one single f**k and didn't even look back to see if her owner was OK. She was just like "woohoo...freedom!" and off she went as if she had been waiting for this very moment her whole entire life:
This one wasn't sure what to do with the whole scenario. First, he stood watch, hoping a human could come and help his owner and when he realized nobody was coming to their aid, he went over to see what kind of assistance, if any, he could offer. Hey, it's the thought that counts!
This last one is actually really sad, because it's pretty much the only other dog that showed any legit concern and we felt like a bunch of jerks for even watching these videos when we saw her nervously pacing in front of her "fainted" master.
