Despite reaching the top of the charts with her debut album The New Classic, Iggy Azalea has encountered her fair share of troubles in the music industry. But throughout the Twitter beefs, tour cancellations and allegations that she dissed Britney Spears, the 25-year-old Australian rapper has always had the support of mentor and fellow rapper T.I. Apparently, though, that's no longer the case.
On Thursday, US Weekly reported that T.I. will no longer serve as Iggy's mentor. Allegedly, the rappers aren't even on speaking terms.
During an interview on radio show Ebro in the Morning, he discussed why his partnership with the "Fancy" rapper has seemingly fizzled, noting that the tweets she exchanged with veteran rapper Q-Tip late last year brought things to a head.
"After I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, 'What is really meant to be said here is...' Then, after it was cool, everything was cool," T.I. said. He later alleges that Iggy's team basically ruined his attempts at making peace with Q-Tip.
Despite their parting of the ways, T.I. still believes in Iggy.
"But I really do feel that they just needed a little more time to adjust, which I feel they can do," he added about Iggy's team. "They have the talent, they have the charisma."
