Remember when an Oreo meant sweet, sugary vanilla frosting sandwiched between two chocolate cookies? Lately it seems that every other day there's a new flavor of Oreo on the block that anyone with a raging sweet tooth just needs to try. From the Key Lime Pie flavor that mimics a beloved summer dessert to the Pumpkin Spice flavor created to remind you of your favorite fall latte, specialty Oreo flavors are a fun way to enjoy the flavor of an iconic treat. Now there's a brand-new Oreo flavor on the shelves of the supermarket - but will you love it quite as much as the original? Only time will tell.
Oreo just launched the limited-edition Toasted Coconut flavor, and if you're a coconut fan, you're probably halfway to the store to purchase them. Though the cookie has "coconut" in the title, it's not exactly pina colada flavored: in fact this cookie is reminiscent of a "warmer" flavor that seems a more appropriate for fall than summer. The Toasted Coconut cookie will feature a coconut creme center (complete with real toasted coconut flakes packed in!) sandwiched between two "golden" Oreo cookies. Think coconut pie, not tropical cocktail.
As with most fancy Oreo flavors, the Toasted Coconut cookies will be available at select retailers, and only for a limited time. If you want them, swoop them up now: I have a feeling they're going to go fast.
