Snoop Dogg doesn't even try to hide his love of marijuana, and with more and more states loosening restrictions on the drug, it appears he feels the need to educate the people on one of his favorite, ahem, pastimes.
According to TechCrunch, Snoop launched a lifestyle platform and media site called Merry Jane, which will search as a bank of information for anyone interested in pot, whether the experienced stoner or the social smoker. He announced his new project, which is currently in beta, at the TechCrunch Disrupt event this week. It will officially launch in October, The Verge reports.
Until then, Merry Jane will invite 420 (Snoop got jokes, guys) people per day to access the website. Will you be one of the lucky few to get to experience his wonderful, wacky world of weed?
The actual content of the site is intended to hit a wide range of topics, covering breaking cannabis news and hard-hitting political and business stories, in addition to cooking shows (which reminds us of this gem from Martha) and celebrity interviews. He's suggested that celebs like Seth Rogan and Miley Cyrus will be involved. There's even already a YouTube channel.
He also aims to set his editorial team on the task of creating a database of cannabis strains so people can choose which one is the best fit, and then find a nearby dispensary that has it.
We can't wait to see what actually goes down on this site on October. But in the meantime, we'll leave you with this remark made by Snoop at TechCrunch Disrupt: "I'm a smoker, my name is Snoop Dogg, and I'm a stoner."
