Think direct-selling parties are just for your mom and her Mary Kay club?
Well, Tyra Banks is about to change all that. The America's Next Top Model creator is taking her year-old beauty line of face, eye and lip goodies, TYRA Beauty, into new territory by expanding her direct selling program, which was previously in test mode, reports WWD.
Direct selling businesses use indie sales reps to sell things directly to you - by having trunk shows or hosting jewelry or beauty parties. Get it?
Tyra has loaded up her squad with #GirlBosses who have tons of experience in the direct-selling biz, including General Manager Anita Krpata and Senior Director of Field Development Evacheska DeAngelis Barton, both formerly of Stella & Dot.
Tyra is now on the hunt for "Beautytainers" - what she's calling her indie sales reps. She began with 200 in March and already had more than 1,000 in the pre-launch. To join, all you have to do is fork over $59 to enroll in Tyra's training program, TYRA-U (what else would it be called?).
Here is Tyra's rallying cry, as told to WWD:
"I am charged with shaking up the world of beauty. Anyone can join our crew of badass entrepreneurs and be the CEO of their own lives."
If you haven't shopped Tyra's line, it's full of prettily packaged items at not-too-expensive prices, like the Cheek in a Stick Blush ($24) and Lip Model Lip Color ($26).
So, will you turn to Tyra and her #BUILTBYGIRLS Beautytainer squad for your beautifying needs?
