"Modeling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while," said the bushy browed actress and former model in an interview with the Times. "It didn't make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was. I felt so old."
Either she's making a special case for this amazing cause or these pics were shot before she made the big decision. Either way, we are excited to see such a confident girl pushing for others to take care of and be aware of their bodies.
This isn't Stella's first time using her fashion cache for good - last year she released a special set too, modeled by Kate Moss. Cara's rocking a pink edition of the Alina Playing lingerie set (two bra styles and a pair of undies), which Stella included as part of the Fall/Winter '15 lingerie collection.
We love that these two strong, inspirational women teamed up for such a worthy cause. Stella will donate a portion of profits to the Linda McCartney Centre in the UK and the National Breast Cancer Foundations in the US and Australia, so that's as good a reason as any to invest in your first piece of Stella McCartney Lingerie now!
"Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women all over the world. While most people are aware of the terrible disease, many forget to take the steps to make the effort to detect it at its early stages, so I designed a set to remind women to consider their health and visit their doctor regularly. Not only does this set look and fit great, it also serves and an important healthy reminder," Stella said in a statement. "We were so thrilled when Cara said yes to this project because she represents a generation of young women that we are really trying to reach and catch the attention of. Cara also brings a level of coolness to the campaign; so there is no taboo, no shame involved. She has that confidence that we want to bring to a new generation of young women and also inspire all generations of women to be aware of breast cancer and to be aware that preventing it is the most positive approach."
