Kaya Stewart is rock royalty. Her dad is musician and producer Dave Stewart, known for his work in Eurythmics with Annie Lennox, so it's no surprise she names legends like Stevie Wonder, Etta James and The Black Crows as musical influences.

While Kaya comes across with the poise and attitude of a seasoned performer, she's actually only 15. The "In Love With a Boy" singer describes her style as edgy and pulls inspiration from the same place as many teenage girls -- Instagram.

Kaya told us that people sometimes say she's "too young," but age is just a number for this powerhouse vocalist. She proves you're never too young to start pursuing your passion, sharing your music and touring with some of today's biggest bands.

Cambio: How did you first become interested in pursuing a career in music?
Kaya: My family's very musical and growing up my dad had a huge influence on me. My dad's an amazing singer/songwriter, he's a producer and I think it was just kinda in my blood. I was always listening to old music growing up and I think it just kind of naturally happened.

Cambio: What inspired your new EP?
Kaya: I wrote the songs on my EP when I was between the ages of 12 and 14. I think at that time in my life I was kinda transitioning from being a kid to living and making music in a more grown up world.

Cambio: What was your experience been like on Warped Tour this summer?
Kaya: Warped Tour was a lot of fun. I think it's one of those tours where you learn so much in such a short period of time. I'm so lucky to be a part of something that's been going on for so many years.

Cambio: I love going to Warped Tour as a fan and have had friends go on Warped Tour. Some female musicians have said that being a girl on Warped Tour can be tough. In your opinion, what is it like being a girl on Warped Tour?
Kaya: I don't think being a girl on Warped Tour puts me at any disadvantage. Everybody's equal on the tour. Some of the biggest bands are playing and there's a lot really small bands as well, but we all got treated exactly the same. I think being a girl doesn't make any difference.

Cambio: What's one piece of advice you'd want to give to other teenage girls like yourself?
Kaya: I'm never going to call myself a role model for teenagers, because I'm a teenager like every other teenage girl and I don't think that people should be looking up to me for advice or huge life choices, because I'm a teen, I barely know what I'm talking about, but I think my advice is if you're passionate about something, pursue it.
