There were some incredibly questionable '90s trends - scrunchies, super skinny eyebrows and butterfly clips among them - but one thing we never thought we'd see come back are frosted lips (the writer of this article once had an icy blue lipstick with a purple tint...I kid you not).
Even though this trend seems wacky now, Refinery29 reports that beauty companies are bringing back the trend, using advanced technology to actually make frosted lipstick wearable.
The brands releasing the newbie icies are some of the best in the biz, like Tom Ford Beauty and Lipstick Queen.
"What's great about these new iterations of shimmer is that the particles of the shimmer are much finer milled so the formula is much more moist," Poppy King, founder of Lipstick Queen, told Refinery29. "They don't look as artificial - they look more natural."
Lipstick Queen has an Ice Queen shade ($24), described on the website as a "sheer snowy white" flecked with silver and gold, much like a facial highlighter. It can be worn alone or over any lip color to get you instantly iced, and is a great way to try the trend without investing in a whole shimmery new color spectrum.
While the frosties of last century were incredibly drying and cakey, these new ones have moisturizing agents like Vitamin E to keep your lips supple.
Slick on this snowy white lip and you'll be looking like Christina's twin in no time!
