Titled "Fiesta," the remixed track is a collaboration between Will and the Columbian band Bomba Estéreo. After hearing the band in Columbia, the 47-year-old star decided he wanted to work with them. Will even drops a few bars in Spanish on the flavor-filled track, and ABC reports that he and the band recently shot an accompanying music video.
Bomba Estéreo's founder Simon Mejia was blown away by the chance to work with one of Hollywood's finest.
"When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn't believe it," he said in a statement. "This opportunity to work with Will was beyond anything we have dreamed of... It's just magic." We're happy to see Will back on his musical grind, but he has some stiff competition — and it's kind of his fault! Although his daughter Willow Smith was only four years old when he recorded his last album in 2005, she's now releasing reflective music and modeling for Marc Jacobs. Meanwhile, Jaden's gone from a 7-year-old accompanying his dad to the studio, to making music of his own while giving Will advice on creating his new sound.
Most teens would probably cringe at the idea of their dad rapping, but clearly Will's a special case. He's definitely back to reclaim some of that star shine he passed on to his children. Maybe they'll even collaborate on a song together a father-daughter-son track, but we'll leave that one up to Willow and Jaden.
