MTV reports that there's a new caffeinated peanut butter named Steem that could either wipe out your coffee-chugging habit or put you on an even faster track to full-fledged caffeine addiction. The crazy thing is that the amount of caffeine in the recommended serving of two tablespoons of Steem is comparable to drinking two cups of coffee.
According to Steem's website, the caffeinated spread "is designed to provide a consistent release of sustained energy and the naturally slow digestion of peanut butter is the key to that." Steem also promises to give consumers "protein, electrolytes, and caffeine, granting you hours of endurance and focus, and freeing you from distractions like hunger and fatigue."
If anything, it seems like Steem is out to prevent coffee spills and carbonated beverage-induced belly fat while putting an extra pep in PB&J sandwiches. For the time being, the peanut butter is only available in 13 stores, but we're thinking it won't be long until they partner up with Starbucks to create a Steem-infused coffee that doubles the caffeine and has everyone going haywire.
