As we saw on tonight's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, there was a little behind-the-scenes drama at the shoot because - in addition to the group cover - the girls were all apparently supposed to do solo covers and WHILE they were getting glammed for the shoot, they found out Kendall Jenner couldn't do one because of commitments she'd already made to do covers for other titles. Fortunately, Kris Jenner straight into momager mode and was able to work out a compromise that made everyone happy.
The 50th anniversary cover is the first one that all six of the girls have done together since 2011 and it was a pretty special moment for Kim Kardashian, who shared that she once had a publicist tell her she would NEVER be on the cover of Cosmo. Not only is this her third Cosmo cover, but she got to pose with her entire family.
While it's obviously awe-inspiring just to see that much beauty in one photograph, Ryan Seacrest, who is executive producer of KUWTK, tells the mag that there is something so much more important behind all that beauty. "No one could have predicted the Kardashians' and Jenners' success," he told them. "But when you spend time with them, what resonates is the family unit. There are so many things about them that are glamorous, crazy, and unlike our lives, but the sense of family is universal."
"Their unvarnished candor reveals how close they really are. What's more, they present acceptance. You look at Bruce and now Caitlyn — you see the power of a family to come together when it would be so easy to fall apart. There's comfort in viewing that steadfastness of love."
So true. With all that's gone on and all that has changed over the years, their "family first" attitude is the one thing that has remained the same.
