Fall Up: 5 Things to Help Cure That Post-Summer Slump!
As we make the transition from summer to fall, I've heard countless people express sadness at the end of the summer season; and, believe me, I feel that pain... But there are SO many things to look forward to in the coming season so do not be discouraged!
Here are 5 things to anticipate as we all fall into fall, and hopefully they'll cure that post-summer slump:
1: Reuniting with all of your friends
With the beginning of the fall season comes the beginning of the school season, as well. *groans*
But while no one looks forward to the start of homework assignments, required reading and standardized tests, school being back in session means that you're reunited with all of the friends that you weren't able to see during summer break. Fall brings them all back into your life on a daily basis and we all know what that means: girl talk by the lockers, passing notes during class and swapping crushes as the semester trickles by! What could be better?
2: Every week is fashion week
I don't think there's a person on this planet who can deny that fall fashion is the greatest part about the changing seasons. Autumnal colors, woven scarves, and combat boots...now THAT'S what dreams are made of. And, after all, it's the one time of year that you can wear knee-high socks and boots without being judged...
3: NO SHAVING! (Hallelujah!)
I'm speaking to all the ladies on this one! Maybe it's a TMI subject, but I know that I, personally, hate having to shave my legs and armpits every few days. It's exhausting, time-consuming and, frankly, "ain't nobody got time for dat!"
But they don't call it #NoShaveNovember for nothing. Fall means colder weather. Colder weather means wearing clothes that cover you up. Being covered up means that no one is going to be able to tell if you, say, decide to put down the razor for a week or two. Ahhhhh, sweet relief!
4: #PSL-life and other seasonal treats
Fall also marks the return of our favorite flavors and treats. For example the treasure that every true Starbucks lover waits all year for: the Infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL, for short).
But what about the seasonal harvest treats that we simply can't do without: pumpkins, squash, apple cider and sweet potatoes? YUM! And yes, you can technically find these during other parts of the year, but...it's just not the same as enjoying them while sitting beside a nice autumnal fire.
5: FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL GAMES
And to all you sports lovers out there, keep in mind that fall signifies that start of FOOTBALL SEASON! And whether you live for the game or live for the socialization that each game brings, this season is packed with excitement for all!
So grab your best friends, your favorite team's jersey and some refreshments that will last you because there's plenty in store to look forward to. (And yes, girls like football too.)
So I guess what I'm basically saying is...autumn is freaking AMAZING and don't let anyone tell you any differently! Each season brings forth its own rewards and treasures. Yes, summer is over but just think of all the excitement that lies ahead.
