The New 'Pretty Little Liars' Opening Will Blow Your Mind

When Marlene King gave Pretty Little Liars fans a glimpse of the new opening sequence, it seemed like it would be months before we saw the full clip of it.

Surprisingly, ABC Family kicked off our weekend with a bang when they released the full clip of it Thursday...and blew our minds. In the photo Marlene posted on Instagram Tuesday, it was clear that Sasha Pieterse (Ali) would be in the opening for the first time, instead of in a casket.

But, there are a couple of other twists in it as well. While the theme song for the show – Pierces' "Secret" – is still there, we see a glimpse of the Liars all grown up post time-jump, and all of them – Aria, Emily, Hanna, Spencer and even Sasha– are standing over a casket that has a blonde girl inside (who is that?!)

And while Aria (Lucy Hale) famously said "Shh!" in the original opening credits, Emily (Shay Mitchell) says it now. Marlene previously teased PLL's new opening in September, tweeting, "Fun new intro when we come back in January. Everyone gets a turn to shhh." In a new behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming season, all of the ladies can indeed be saying "shh!"

As for what we can expect next season, Marlene told E! News the Liars will be in "very different places" five years in the future. She added, "I don't want to give you all the answers because that's part of the fun of the story when we find them. They're still friends, but like what happens after you get out of college, you don't get to see your friends all the time. So there's a reason they have to come back to town and they're bringing some secrets back with them, too."

There's no exact premiere date for the show, but we do know it's in January. We'll be biting our nails until then.
