Would you put an open flame anywhere near your eyes? Of course you wouldn't - but you still may be able to use fire to get some fierce eyelashes. It's a Korean beauty trend, and I promise it's a whole less scary than it sounds.
If you want to achieve this eyelash look, the only things you'll need are a lighter, wooden Q-Tip (do NOT use a plastic one, unless you want it to melt all over your lashes) and some mascara. First, start by curling your lashes with a regular, run-of-the-mill eyelash curler, and then apply your favorite mascara. Then comes the fire: heat the wooden Q-Tip with the lighter until it's warm (not crazy hot) on the back of your hand. When it's ready, run the wooden Q-Tip from the base of your lashes to the tip. Reapply your mascara and, viola! Insta-fab, luscious lashes.
This beauty trick has been around for a long time, and first came to be as a solution for curling Korean women's often straight eyelashes. While electric eyelash curlers do exist, they can be pricey and often take a long time to heat up - not exactly ideal for when you're rushing to get to a party on time. Instead women are using this cheap, efficient method to score the same coveted look.
This method seems to work wonders for women, but if you're a tad phobic of open flames, there is another solution. Instead of using a heated Q-Tip, you can achieve a similar look by using a blow dryer to heat up a metal eyelash curler, and then curling your lashes after it cools down to an appropriate temperature. (Note: the metal will get super hot, so definitely test it on the back of your hand first!)
Who knew we should have been keeping lighters in our makeup bag this entire time? Use these methods and you'll have all of your friends begging you to borrow your mascara.
