One Direction's 'Perfect' Really Is Perfect
This year has been quite a year for the boys. First Zayn Malik leaves, then Louis Tomlinson confirms he's going to be a dad, and now both Niall Horan and Harry Styles have broken their feet (what goes on backstage?). Regardless, these boys have shown that nothing can drag them down (aced the song reference).
Their newest single totally made Friday worth the wait. I know nothing is perfect, but seriously their new song "Perfect" IS perfect. OK, so I might be a little biased, just a little, so let's break the song down, shall we?
First of all, we are super blessed with Louis starting the song. I mean, "I might never be the one you take home to mother." Um babe, I would take you home to my mother any day.
Then we have Liam being the angel he is as always. "When I first saw you from across the room, I could tell that you were curious." I was curious from the moment I heard "What Makes You Beautiful." Looking One Direction up was probably the best decision I've ever made.
Then comes my favorite part: THE CHORUS! Here we mostly hear Harry's beautiful voice singing, "And if you like midnight driving with the windows down, And if you like going places we can't even pronounce, If you like to do whatever you've been dreaming about, Baby, you're perfect."
You'll have to listen to the song if you want to know the whole chorus, and just a heads up, it's super catchy!
In the next verse we get to hear Niall singing his little Irish heart out: "I might never be the hand you put your heart in." Excuse me, but you're one of the only hands I trust with my heart, mister!
Now this song is rumored to be a "Haylor" song. If you don't know what Haylor is, then where have you been? But seriously Haylor is Harry and Taylor Swift's ship name for when they dated way back when. Some people think "Perfect" sounds like one of Tay's songs. Others think that Harry totally subbed Taylor when he sings: "And if you like cameras flashing every time we go out, And if you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about, Baby, I'm perfect."
*Sighs* I don't know if it's a Haylor song or not. What I do know is that I learned the lyrics by the fifth replay, and it's a really great song. Don't be the person that refuses to listen to One Direction because they're a boyband. You're missing out if you do. #RealTalk
Here's to another magical single! Props to you, boys!
