Here's what we know so far. Word of the concert cancellation started spreading on Twitter as the #GetWellSoonLiam hashtag began trending. The show was reportedly canceled right before they were set to perform.
While we wait for an official statement about Liam's illness, a pic of the announcement at the show has made its way on social media. It explains: "The show tonight has been cancelled as Liam has taken ill, and whilst not serious, he is unable to perform tonight."
Publicist Simon Jones tweeted: "Unfortunately One Direction have had to cancel tonight's concert in Belfast. Liam has been taken suddenly ill, and the concert will sadly not be taking place. Fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets and there will be a further statement tomorrow. The band apologise to their fans and wish Liam well as soon as possible."
There are also rumors that Niall Horan is sick as well and that Liam was taken to the hospital, but neither rumor was confirmed. Dan Wooton of The Sun tweeted:
One Direction concert in Belfast cancelled tonight because Liam Payne has been taken ill. I'm told he is not in hospital.— Dan Wootton (@danwootton) October 20, 2015
We'll provide updates as they come in.
From what I've found out, Niall is not ill. There are medical concerns for Liam. Second event he has pulled out of in a week. #OneDirection— Dan Wootton (@danwootton) October 20, 2015
UPDATE: Harry Styles has tweeted their apologies:
Louis Tomlinson has tweeted as well:
