Not going to lie...Zac Efron's wish for his birthday made us tear up a little bit.

On his 28th birthday Sunday, he asked fans to donate to charitable organization Stand Up to Cancer in honor of his late cousin. "Happy birthday to my cousin and best friend, Emily, who passed away from cancer 2 years ago - she was 28 like me," he captioned a shot on Instagram of him and Emily as kids, smiling on a beach.

"We share the same birthday and this day is forever ours. My birthday wish is for you to donate anything you can to @su2c. The link is in my bio. Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes. Love you." The whole thing had us like...

The next day, Zac headed back to Instagram to show his appreciation for the support he received, writing, "Special thanks to everyone who made my birthday wish come true by donating to @su2c in memory of my cousin Emily who passed from cancer. And if you didn't donate yet there's always time (Link in bio)."

Aside from Zac's charitable birthday wish, it looks like he skipped a big raging party and had an intimate night at home with his girlfriend Sami Miro. On the evening of his big day, Sami posted a shot of a plate with sushi on it topped with two candles, writing, "Best birthday cake ever from yours truly #uni."

It shouldn't be a huge surprise that they didn't cap off the night with a raging bash, though. For their one-year anniversary, Zac and Sami had a low-key day too. "We kept it very chill, like lots of, lots of just hanging out, keeping it mellow," Miró told E!. #relationshipgoals
