You can blame one of the most popular social networking apps for draining your battery during a very important texting session. As first pointed out by product designer Matt Galligan on Twitter, the Facebook app uses a ridiculous amount of battery, especially compared to the other apps you use on the daily.
While you may want to see cute photos of your friend's new puppy or what colleges your classmates got accepted to via Facebook, that doesn't mean that the app should be the reason your phone dies before your fourth period class. Fortunately, Facebook gets the struggle, and is reportedly working on a fix that could make their iOS app work more efficiently. Until then, keep your phone charger handy.
