Selena Gomez has to be going through it right now. The singer just lost a very close friend to suicide, and somehow pulled out her inner-strength to keep doing her working thing throughout the hard time.

Selena did her best to smile on the red carpet at the InStyle Awards on October 26 but she admitted that it was very difficult to be at the event because she just lost her good friend, Jake Bailey. She and the makeup artist were good friends. He had actually done her makeup for her Revival album cover.

Sel must've been hit by the tragedy because she chimed in about the incident on Instagram. She said that being out and about wasn't easy. She wanted her fans to know that although she was smiling on the carpet and posing for pics, she is mourning the loss of her friend.

"It was kinda hard to go out tonight but I would do anything for @kystyle -she deserves the award of the night at #InStyleAwards she makes us ladies feel beautiful always x."
Selena was there to present an award to stylist Kate Young. Jake was found in his car on October 23 by his assistant.

"Mr. Bailey was found unresponsive by his friend at his residence this morning at 8:25 on the 2200 block of Holly drive," Los Angeles County Department of Medical examiner/coroner; assistant chief, Ed Winter, told

"There was an apparent suicide involving carbon monoxide poison. There's an autopsy pending. And the final cause of death are pending full toxicology."

Just days before Jake's death he posted a pic of him and Selena at a photo shoot. He also revealed that his favorite song off her new album was "Can't Keep My Hands To Myself."

Our thoughts and prayers are with Selena and Jake's friends and family at this time.
