What's the Real Message Behind The 1975's 'Love Me'?

The 1975 released a music video for their new single "Love Me" today. The video is such a late '80s throwback, and it's so original at the same time!

You might notice that video has cardboard cutouts of some of the most popular people in Hollywood right now and ever. Some of the lyrics in the song say, "You look famous lets be friends and portray we possess something important."

I personally want to know the true message behind the song and the video...
