Choosing a Halloween
costume is not an easy task. Even though there are so many options, every October 31, we're still struggling until the last second to discover the perfect outfit to show off on our candy escapades. Should we keep it classic this year and go for a decade costume, or are we going to choose the pop culture reference
sure to get a laugh? How can we be original, funny and still kind of sexy?
Well, don't stress out too much, because Influenster
's latest infographic just revealed what everyone from each state is going to be this Halloween, and the most popular costumes are pretty unoriginal. In fact, they lack any sort of imagination (unless we're talking about the imagination of Walt Disney
To find out who is going to be what this year, the team at Influenster surveyed over 42,000 people across the United States asking them about their choice Halloween costume for 2015. Overall, it found out that 84 percent of Americans will be dressing up this year. So if you decide that Halloween isn't really "your thing," you will definitely be the odd-woman out.
After they found out who will be dressing up, it then looked to what people are dressing up as. States like California are mostly opting for Alice in Wonderland
get-ups, while New York is keeping it similarly Disney and opting for Snow White. (Our question: Does this include the dudes?) The rest of the country isn't straying much from the Disney theme. Pocahontas, Minnie and Cinderella
can be seen all across the nation while most popular costumes in the county were found to be Elsa from Frozen
and a Minion; if you thought Frozen
was old news, you are sadly mistaken.
If you're still hunting down an idea at the last minute, let this graphic serve as a point of reference of what not to do. After all, you can definitely do better than a Disney princess or a superhero.
