Not too long ago, Cambio caught up with MAX as he was preparing for his Sounds Like Gibberish Tour. Last night, the tour reached New York City, and I was lucky enough to attend the Webster Hall show. Two years ago, I saw MAX perform at that same venue (OG fan alert), so I knew I was in for another unforgettable show.
MAX promised fans a "unique experience" with "a lot of energy," and he certainly did not disappoint. Despite injuring his foot a few days ago, MAX chose to continue with the tour (and I'm so glad that he did). After Call Me Karizma and Kenzie Nimmo warmed up the crowd, MAX came out on stage accompanied by crutches and still managed to put on an incredible show for the fans.
MAX opened the night with "Puppeteer," followed by "Hotel Confidential." Throughout the night, he performed a range of songs, from old favorites like "Someday," "Darling" and "Nothing Without Love" to covers of some of the radio's most popular songs, including a mash-up of Drake's "Hotline Bling" and Justin Bieber's "Where Are U Now?". The hometown crowd went absolutely wild.
I think it's safe to say that old and new fans of MAX thoroughly enjoyed the concert. He ended the show with "Gibberish," followed by "Mugshot" and took a squad pic with the crowd. #squadgoals
Based on the photo he posted last night, I think he enjoyed the show just as much as the fans did!
Be sure to check out MAX's Ms. Anonymous EP (available on iTunes) and buy your tickets to see him on tour - only a few more dates remain and you DON'T want to miss out!
