The Hunger Games franchise is coming to an end this November with Mockingjay Part 2, but star Liam Hemsworth is saying goodbye to more than just Gale Hawthorne this year. One-half of the adorable Hemsworth brother duo has just gone through a major lifestyle overhaul, and it involves bidding farewell to meat, fish, and, perhaps most heartbreaking, cheese. Liam has officially adopted a vegan lifestyle, and we already miss pizza for him - even if his reasoning for the change is totally sound.

Liam's new diet change, which he discussed recently with Men's Fitness, seems to make a lot of sense for him. After realizing that the massive amount of red meat he was eating wasn't doing wonders for his body (shocker) and doing research into how that meat gets to our table (it's not pretty), Liam decided to make a serious diet overhaul. In fact, he told the magazine that the real push came from one of his Hunger Games co-stars:

After all the information I gathered about the mistreatment of animals, I couldn't continue to eat meat... Woody Harrelson was actually one of the original reasons I became vegan, because he's been vegan for, I don't know, 30 years or something. So, with the facts I was gathering, and then just how I was physically feeling, I felt like I had to do something different, so I adopted this vegan-diet lifestyle.

Since ditching meat, dairy ,eggs, and anything else made from an animal or animal byproducts, Liam says that he's felt a lot better overall. While a vegan diet may not be right for everyone, it seems to be working pretty well for him right now, though he reportedly still mourns a hot slice of New York City pizza. Hopefully co-star Woody has some great vegan cheese brands he can recommend for when the cravings get too intense. The struggle is so very real.
