As the show gets closer to its last season (don't worry, that's not until season 7), the stars of the show are stepping out and pursuing other opportunities. And Lucy Hale just landed a stellar one.
Our girl has been tapped to star in the comedy flick Dude, which is centered on four best friends who are in the last two weeks of their senior year of high school, according to Deadline. The film deals with "first real losses in life - leaving your best friends, your first encounter with death, and the loss of time," the site reported, adding that it "is also about getting stoned with your friends in your car while listening to hip-hop."
Lucy will play Lily, a popular high school senior heading to NYU who knows she's hot and flaunts it, is very assertive, a control freak and values her best friends over everything – even her "beloved bong." The film is set to start shooting at the end of this month in Los Angeles.
"So excited to finally share this ! dude dude dude #dude2016," Lucy captioned a shot of a news story about the casting on Instagram. Before Lucy landed her major role, her PLL costar, Shay Mitchell, also nabbed a juicy role in the romantic comedy Mother's Day.
In it, Shay will play Timothy Olyphant (Henry)'s much younger, new "bouncy, beautiful wife" named Tina, who wants nothing more than to be the perfect stepmom to Henry and Sandy (Jennifer Aniston)'s children," according to Deadline. Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis, among other stars, are also in the film.
We can't wait to see what's in store for the other Liars!
