Turns out you're going to have many more opportunities to cop some @BadGalRiRi swag.
Rihanna was crowned the women's creative director of Puma last December, and the German sportswear company is so pleased with the results, they're making more plans for the long-term. Don't you just love when a relationship works out?
In September, Puma released the Puma By Rihanna Collection creepers in three colorways, under Rihanna's Fenty label (not bad for a celeb-endorsed edition). The suede, thick-soled sneaks, which retailed for $120 a pair, sold out online within a few hours, not surprisingly.
In a third-quarter report given Friday morning, Puma announced that adding Rihanna to its squad has been majorly successful - Puma claimed that sales are up 3 percent from the same time last year, according to Fashionista. While Vogue UK reports that this was a decline from last quarter - apparently the numbers dropped by more than a third - it seems the social media hype and press coverage of the creeper, as well as women's shoe sales, have made a positive impact on the brand. As a result, they'll be focused more on women's stuff, going forward: Rihanna's second shoe is slated to release this November, and a full line of footwear and apparel is dropping next year.
With these exciting new projects on the horizon begging for some extra cash to burn, you can bet we'll be singing a familiar tune in the near future...and it sounds a lot like "BBHMM."
