Dunkin' Donuts Holiday Cups Are Totally Different From Starbucks

By now, you've probably heard all about the ridiculous controversy over the Starbucks holiday cups. If you haven't, some people (who clearly don't have anything better to do with their time) are angry at the coffee chain for choosing a red and cranberry ombre design for their seasonal cups over one that was more specifically Christmas themed. Now it seems that a Starbucks competitor is using the controversy to its advantage, with new holiday cups that are guaranteed to please all the people who think Starbucks is anti-Christmas.

Many coffee drinkers strongly prefer either Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts (at least, those of us not on the west coast who have the luxury of enjoying both) but now it seems that some people are more concerned as to what is on their coffee cup than what is in it. This year, what's on Dunkin' Donuts holiday cup is a design that totally screams Christmas, with a red and green design featuring a Christmas wreath with the word "Joy" in the middle.

Check out this side by side comparison of the cups. Is Dunkin' Donuts totally throwing shade Starbucks' way?

So far Dunkin' Donuts hasn't made a comment about whether the cup has anything to do with Starbucks' lack of Christmas imagery, but if they're going for a design that will win over Starbucks haters, I think the company has succeeded. Your move, Starbucks.
