Fortunately, he's made a dramatic turnaround and has not only awoken from the coma, he's regained function of all four organs that were failing and has even started to walk and talk a little bit.
For almost weeks, Khloe did not leave his side at all. When she attended Kim Kardashian's baby shower, it was the first time she had been spotted anywhere but the hospital and after the event, she was right back by his side. Since then, she's left for some small things, but for the most part, has been staying with him and supporting him.
In a new interview, Khloe reveals that she essentially had to be talked into leaving Lamar's side, even just to go to the gym, which she didn't do for three weeks while she was staying by his side. Eventually, she conceded.
"Just recently I've been in the hospital for almost three-and-a-half weeks straight, and finally everyone was saying, 'Khloe, you have to get out of the hospital and just for an hour, go to the gym and do something that's for you. Nothing's going to happen to Lamar,'" she told the The San Diego-Union Tribune.
"I had such anxiety going to the gym, but as soon as I left, and Kendall and I worked out with my trainer, I felt like 'Oh my god, I'm OK. I'm a human again!' I just felt so good," she revealed. "But for those three-and-a-half weeks, I didn't think about the gym because I was thinking about other things, and I don't beat myself up about it."
We are so glad that Khloe finally took time for herself - she definitely deserves it. She has been absolutely amazing in what she's done for Lamar with the love, support and strength that she's shown him through this, but we're really glad everyone convinced her to do something for herself, too, even if it was just a quick trip to the gym!
