The holidays are approaching, which means that so are holiday parties. You may be investing in cute velvet dresses and lots of cranberry-colored tops for the upcoming Christmas season, but you don't have to don literal sleigh bells in order to add some extra festivity to your look - just add some cool metallics to your hair instead. Gold leaf hair is a new hair trend here to take your holiday look to the next level.

The only thing that you'll need to get this bling-y look is mousse, a paintbrush, and some gold leaf, which you can purchase at craft stores like Michael's. The Fox and the Hair salon was one of the first to pioneer this look - just as they did with glitter roots! - but according to the salon you don't need to be a pro to achieve gold leaf hair. Simply use a paintbrush to paint mousse onto your hair, pat down the gold leaf, and wait a few minutes for everything to settle.

When the leaf hardens, you'll be left with a new gorgeous style, like the ones below:

Gold leaf hair certainly brings glam to your normal style, sans any real commitment. Once you're done look like a gold goddess, simply shampoo out the leaf. Of course, you may want to stick with this look for as long as possible: it's a serious head turner, and will definitely make you the hair envy of any holiday party on the horizon.
