Curating a stylish and long-lasting wardrobe is tough, to say the least. We're always finding things in our closet that we would never wear in a million years thinking, Why did we actually buy this?!

As reported on Who Wore What, Orange is the New Black and Girls costume designer Jenn Rogien told Glamour that there is one single formula for getting the closet of your dreams: the "3-7-14" rule.

Jenn told the magazine:

"If you buy something and you haven't worn it in three days, it's unlikely you're going to wear it. If you weren't that excited to wear it the next day, you weren't that excited to wear it to begin with," Rogien laid out. "If you haven't worn it in seven days, you're definitely not going to wear it, so make sure you return it in fourteen. Get it out of your life within 14 days or you're never going to return it."

And everyone knows something that sits in the back of your wardrobe with the tags on is never getting out of there.

Successful shopping is way easier with this "3-7-14" rule in our lives. And now for a trip to the mall...
