The Hills star, Audrina Patridge, has pretty much done it all! She's been in television shows, films, modeled, and represented various brands. Can you say #GIRLBOSS? So if you've been wondering what she's been up to, we're here to let you know all about it. Audrina's latest endeavor is being a spokesperson for Kahlúa,which is a super tasty coffee-flavored liqueur from Mexico which you need to try ASAP (for those of you who are of age). You youngsters are gonna have to wait a couple of years to enjoy it!
We chatted with Audrina at Genuine Liqorette in New York City about Kahlúa and her amazing career! At the event, she dished about her favorite tips and tricks on perfecting classic cocktail recipes and throwing the ultimate holiday party. She also opened up about some of the ups and downs she's faced as a young woman navigating the entertainment industry. Trust us when we say, she's learned a lot! Here is the inside scoop:
CAMBIO: So our followers are DYING to know - do you still keep in touch with any of the other stars from The Hills?
AUDRINA PATRIDGE: I do! We're definitely not as close as we used to be because we're not doing the show anymore but I still chat with Heidi, Lauren, Whitney, and Brody. Sometimes we will run into each other at events but mostly we talk over the phone. I definitely try to keep up with everything that they're doing.
You've definitely had a full career, what is the biggest lesson you've learned through all of the work you've done?
For me, the main takeaway has been to not be so trusting. In the entertainment world, there are people who are out for their own best interests and who might not have your interests in mind. You really need to be careful who you let into your circle. It's a dog-eat-dog type of industry.
Plenty of young girls look up to you as a role model. Do you have any advice for women who want to follow in your footsteps?
That's amazing and I'm so happy that I can be an example for young women! I would definitely say that to make it as an actress or model, you have to develop a super thick skin. There's lots of rejection and lots of people telling you "no," but you have to be resilient. You have to go after what you want.
Talking with you now, it's amazing to see how humble you are! How do you stay so grounded when you've achieved star status?
It's all about remembering what's important. Materialistic things and fame don't bring true happiness. No matter what I'm doing, I always want to make sure that I'm prioritizing my family, friends, and genuine relationships. At the end of the day, that's what means the most to me.
You spoke publicly about being involved in a super creepy situation with a catfisher! Has he or she been exposed?
Oh my gosh, no. We still don't know who it was. That situation really revealed to me that social media can be a dangerous thing! There is a lot of power that comes with social media but some people use it for the wrong reasons. That catfisher hurt a lot of people and it was very scary to be involved in.
So what makes you excited about representing Kahlúa and why is it unique compared to other liquors?
It just tastes so different from other liquors I've tried! When having and hosting holiday parties, it's really important to make fun, creative cocktails for your guests. Kahlúa has really unique flavors, especially with our new peppermint and pumpkin mocha varieties, so it gives any event an extra twist.
Finally, we're partnered up with #BUILTBYGIRLS which is a movement that empowers women to be the protagonists in their own lives. As a female public figure, what does #BUILTBYGIRLS mean to you?
What an incredible movement that is. For me, #BUILTBYGIRLS means looking inside of yourself and figuring out what you want to bring to the table. Ask yourself, what are you passionate about? Is it fitness, health, fashion, or entertainment? Whatever a girl wants to do, she can do.
