In this video, BuzzFeed had a bunch of girls give waist training a try and let's just say it's not exactly as glamorous as the Kardashians make it look.
They had a doctor supervise the week-long experiment and she explained that if you don't wear it right, you can actually 'put pressure on your liver, spleen, stomach and intestines,' so be careful about that for sure. Also, ouch! In addition to making sure they wore it right, she provided some ground rules, namely: don't wear it for longer than 1-2 hours at a time and don't wear it if you're doing heavy, strenuous exercise.
Surprisingly, the girls said it didn't necessarily 'hurt' to be in it, it was just uncomfortable, especially when they needed to sit or take deep breaths - you know, the stuff you kind of NEED to do in life. "I think there are probably better and healthier ways to achieve the look you want to achieve," one participant concluded.
There was some silver lining, though, some felt like it helped with their posture, so there's that.
