Barbie is making history with its new commercial for the limited edition Moschino Barbie that features a boy in it for the first time playing with the doll. Popping up with his hair styled in a Mohawk and looking like he could be the Moschino creative director as a child, the little boy says, "Moschino Barbie is so fierce," before putting Barbie's black leather purse on her arm.
This is the first time in Barbie's 56-year career that a little boy has been featured in one of their commercials...and the tiny thesp certainly made it worth the wait, complete with a killer wink at the end of it. When the commercial made its debut, people went crazy over it on Twitter, giving Barbie and Moschino props for including him in it.
The little boy in the Moschino Barbie commercial is my entire life right now 👏🏻👏🏻— gracie ☄ (@lighninq_) November 17, 2015
The 8 year old boy in the new Moschino @Barbie commercial's wink at the end slayed my entire existence. Deserves a goddamn award.— Amanda Please (@DailyAmanda) November 17, 2015
It makes sense that the Moschino Barbie would feature a boy in its commercial considering Jeremy said Barbie led him to his career in fashion design. "The thing I love about Barbie is that she is the ultimate muse and inspired me to become a designer," Scott told People StyleWatch. "Moschino style is all about humor coupled with high fashion and Barbie allows us to play out these looks in whole new way."
The truth is, Moschino Barbie is fierce. So fierce that if we could squeeze our way into any of her clothes we would do it (umm...did you see her closet?). And we aren't the only ones who think so. The Barbie sold out in less than an hour after it went on sale Nov. 9.
Luckily, there are adult-sized versions of Barbie's Moschino looks available now at net-a-porter.com #FTW.
